Inspira adviser helps young person find his path
Moving to a new school can be difficult for some young people, which is where Inspira can help.
Max* moved to a local mainstream secondary school at the start of Year11, to help the transition he was taught in a separate space with the idea of gradually reintegrating into lessons.
To help the process, Max and his Inspira adviser talked about the future and discussed local college visits and infill taster sessions. Max was keen to become a mechanic, so together he and his adviser explored apprenticeship routes, and what he would need to do to create a CV.
During the first lockdown, the adviser, Max, his parents, and Carlisle College kept in regular contact ensuring that an application was completed and that Max was aware of following up interviews and enrolment dates.
Max also enrolled to access English & Maths sessions on alternate weeks.
Following the summer holiday's Max received a start date for the end of September to begin a Level 1 Mechanics course, all is going well for Max, and he and his parents are grateful for the support from Inspira.
